Adam Blau is a Los Angeles-based composer, songwriter, and arranger. His credits span edgy comedy series (FXX's You're the Worst, IFC's Brockmire), Oscar-nominated animation (My Year of Dicks), indie features (Banana Split, Fuzz Track City), dark thrillers (Netflix's Dead to Me, Paramount's Witness podcast), and family-oriented media for the Fred Rogers Institute.
As a live performer, Adam has arranged and played music with artists in venues across the US and in over 20 countries, including shows for multiple presidents and world leaders, the Los Angeles mayoral inauguration, late night piano bars, and in his kids' school classrooms. He's composed full-length shows for theme parks and corporate events, and orchestrated a show for the Broadway stage. Adam loves bringing his sharp and versatile arrangements and keyboard skills to audiences of all sorts.
Through his work with Formosa Group, Adam works closely with music editors to help define the musical character of film and TV projects from their early stages. Managing the company's massive soundtrack collection, Adam maintains ties with creatives and postproduction crew to ensure a smooth and successful temping, scoring, and music sourcing process throughout each stage of production. Adam is a self-proclaimed "music library buff," passionate about vintage and archival production library music; his podcast Rarefied Air featured curated classic library tracks, bringing these lost gems to a modern audience.
Adam lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
